Souls' Smedium
Block Party

Join the host's party and make a private /dice roll to determine the quality of your final carving. Higher numbers mean more impressive pumpkins!

Once your rolls have been made and the host presents you with your pumpkin (your choice of classic orange, white, or green), you will have up to 30 minutes to write out how you carve it! _{Be creative - perhaps on a high roll, you linkpearl your carpenter friend for advice, and they coach you through the best ways to use a sawblade. On a low roll, on the other hand, perhaps your tools just really aren't sharp enough - or perhaps you are a pumpkin carving maestro, but then accidentally knock your pumpkin off the table at the last minute and it ends up in pieces.}

Around the 15 minute mark, the host will ask you to roll /random 20. (You can also ask for a random roll at the start if you are on a time crunch.) This will spawn a random event which you must now incorporate into your narrative - immediately, or later in your scene. Some potential events are good, others are bad... and perhaps a few are a just a little bit spooky. [Note: a few events include creepy crawly creatures. Please let us know when you sign up if you want to avoid these, and we can have you reroll if necessary!]

What you carve into your pumpkin and how you do it is up to you! Classic jack-o'-lanterns, elaborate gothic cathedral designs, cats in silhouette, and more are all on the carving table. Just keep it sfw

Enjoying another participant's writing and creativity? Let the hosts know! We'll be awarding an "Audience Favourite" prize towards the end of the night in addition to a "Best Pumpkin" prize (highest straight roll). You may not vote for yourself as a Favourite - however, you may cast multiple votes IF they each go to different carvers! Spectators are also allowed to vote toward this prize!

Stop by Serene Steep's booth and you'll get a piece of candy to get started

You have a choice of shapes between a ghost, pumpkin, or a bat! Difficulty and prizes vary from shape to shape

Once you have your candy, you'll roll /random 100. This is your Base!

Generally, in order to free the shape without breaking the candy, each roll after must be higher than the one before, but the pumpkin and bat have a couple additional rules that can make them harder!

Ghost [ 3 rolls ] : Roll your Base. If your 2nd roll is lower, the candy starts to crack. Your 3rd roll must be higher than your 2nd, or the candy breaks. If its higher, you win!

Pumpkin [ 4 rolls ] : Similar to the Ghost, roll your Base, and then each subsequent roll must be higher than the last. But, if you hit a 1 at any point, the candy instantly breaks!

Bat [ 4 rolls ] : Roll your Base. If your 2nd or 3rd roll is lower than the roll before it, your candy starts to crack, and a failure on both means it breaks! For your 4th roll, it has to be higher than BOTH previous rolls for it not to break. And, if you hit a 1 at any point, the candy instantly breaks!

Should you roll a 70 or higher for your Base roll, you may reroll for a better chance!

While divination comes in many forms, bear in mind that the fate told in the cards is always changing. Even so much as hearing it may cause it to change. The guidance given is gentle advice, not a hard line to follow.
